CapDiem ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our mobile application.

1. Overview

CapDiem is designed as an offline-first and privacy-focused application. We believe your financial data belongs to you and you alone.

We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers. All data you enter into CapDiem remains strictly on your device.

2. Information We Collect

Since CapDiem operates offline, we do not collect or process any personal information.

2.1. User-Provided Information

The data you input (e.g., salary, expenses, budget limits, savings goals) is stored locally on your device using your device's internal storage. We verify that:

• We have no access to this data.
• We do not share this data with third parties.
• We do not use this data for advertising or analytics.

2.2. Device Permissions

To provide specific features, CapDiem may request access to certain device capabilities:

• Biometric Authentication (FaceID / TouchID): Used strictly to lock/unlock the application and secure your local data. Biometric data is processed by your device's operating system and is never accessible to the CapDiem app itself or transmitted to us.
• Storage / File Access: Required only if you choose to export your data (e.g., generating PDF or CSV reports) to save files to your device.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All your financial data is stored locally on your device.
• Security: We utilize industry-standard practices to ensure the app functions securely. However, the security of your data also depends on the security of your device (e.g., device passcode, biometric security).
• Backups: Since we do not have a cloud server, we cannot restore your data if you lose your device or uninstall the app without a backup. You are responsible for managing any manual exports or device-level backups (e.g., iCloud or Google Drive backups of your entire device).

4. Diagnostics from Apple and Google

If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share with App Developers; Android: Settings → Google → Usage & diagnostics), Apple or Google may forward us anonymized, aggregated crash reports about CapDiem. These reports contain no personal data, no device identifiers, and no information about your finances — they describe what the app was doing when it stopped working, so we can fix bugs.

CapDiem itself does not collect, transmit, or store any crash data. This pathway is entirely between you, your operating system, and the app store, and it only operates when you have explicitly opted in at the OS level. You can turn it off at any time in those same device settings.

5. Third-Party Services

CapDiem contains no advertisements and no third-party tracking analytics. We do not integrate with third-party SDKs that collect user data.

6. Children's Privacy

CapDiem does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13. The app is completely offline and safe for use by all ages, but it is intended for general financial management.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.

8. Open Source Acknowledgements

CapDiem's avatar gallery is generated locally on your device using DiceBear — an open-source avatar library. No data is transmitted to DiceBear's servers; the avatars are computed entirely on device from the seed name shown in the app.

The following DiceBear illustration styles are shipped with CapDiem. Public-domain (CC0) styles are listed without an artist credit, in line with the licensor's preferences. Styles licensed under CC BY 4.0 are credited per the license terms.
