privacy policy.

CapDiem ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our mobile application.

1. Overview

CapDiem is designed as an offline-first and privacy-focused application. We believe your financial data belongs to you and you alone.

We do not upload your financial records, budgets, profile, or app settings to our servers. Data you enter into CapDiem remains on your device unless you explicitly export it or enable a backup to your own Google Drive account.

2. Information We Collect

CapDiem does not use advertising or behavioral analytics. If crash reporting is enabled in the app, we process a limited technical crash report as described in Section 4.

2.1. User-Provided Information

The data you input (e.g., salary, expenses, budget limits, savings goals) is stored locally on your device using your device's internal storage. We verify that:

2.2. Device Permissions

To provide specific features, CapDiem may request access to certain device capabilities:

3. Data Storage and Security

4. Crash Diagnostics

Release builds can send technical crash reports to Sentry so we can identify and fix crashes. The report may contain the exception, stack trace, app version, operating-system version, device model, and coarse runtime state. Native SDK reports may also contain technical breadcrumbs and a generated app-installation or device identifier. CapDiem does not attach your financial records, profile, or app settings to these reports, and screenshot and session-replay capture are disabled. JavaScript reports are additionally filtered to remove user context, breadcrumbs, network-request details, and persistent device IDs, and to redact common email, URL, and long-number patterns. Native SDK reports follow a separate processing path; this policy does not assume that JavaScript filtering applies to every native report.

You can turn Anonymous crash reporting off at any time in CapDiem Settings. Reports are encrypted in transit and processed by Sentry on our behalf solely for application stability. Sentry's own retention and security controls apply to the technical reports it processes.

Crash reporting is enabled by default in configured release builds. Turning it off stops future reporting from the app; it does not erase reports already received. Likewise, clearing local app data does not delete reports held by Sentry or backups in Google Drive. For privacy or deletion questions, contact [email protected]. Because crash reports are not linked to a CapDiem account, we may need an event identifier and approximate time to locate a particular report.

If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share with App Developers; Android: Settings → Google → Usage & diagnostics), Apple or Google may forward us anonymized, crash and diagnostic reports about CapDiem. The contents and controls for those reports are governed by Apple's or Google's own privacy documentation and your device settings.

The Apple/Google pathway is controlled separately by your operating-system settings.

5. Third-Party Services

CapDiem contains no advertisements and no third-party tracking analytics. Sentry processes the limited crash diagnostics described above. Google processes authentication and Drive requests only when you choose to connect cloud backup. Neither service receives your data for advertising from CapDiem.

6. Children's Privacy

CapDiem is intended for general financial management and is not directed at children under 13. Core budgeting works offline; optional cloud backup and crash reporting use network services. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through a diagnostic report.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.

8. Open Source Acknowledgements

CapDiem's avatar gallery is generated locally on your device using DiceBear — an open-source avatar library. No data is transmitted to DiceBear's servers; the avatars are computed entirely on device from the seed name shown in the app.

The following DiceBear illustration styles are shipped with CapDiem. Public-domain (CC0) styles are listed without an artist credit, in line with the licensor's preferences. Styles licensed under CC BY 4.0 are credited per the license terms.

Full license texts and the DiceBear source code are available on the DiceBear licenses page and the DiceBear GitHub repository.
